Last Friday Randy and I had the privilege of cutting what was at one time the largest Pecan tree in Columbia county. It was by far the hardest wood I have ever cut.
For my cutting buddies in St.Pete the “Big Red ” Eucalyptus was butter compared to this bad boy. This was way beyond “PECANCRETE” this was more like PETRAFIED….. Some slabs took 2 chains per cut and 30 plus minutes per slab. It took 11 hours to cut 2 beautiful large crotch logs. We cut table tops and leg material from the logs. The slabs will be made into tables for the family members. Keep in mind these are limbs not the main trunk. More about the trunks later.
